It’s Electric! (February 2018)

On February 15, 2018, the 3rd and 4th Grade students had the opportunity to experience the “It’s Electric!” program from the Springfield Science Museum. www.springfieldmuseums.org/groups/school/museums-on-the-go/

The students explored the differences between static and current electricity; experimented with conductors, insulars, magnets and had a chance to experiment with a real Van de Graaff generator.

Everyone really enjoyed the show! Here are comments from some 3rd graders…
“Everybody really liked when we joined together to make a human circuit with the Woo Woo bar.”
“I really liked the Van de Graaff generator that generated static electricity and made Ms. Kitfield‘s hair go weird crazy up!”
“I really liked it when the electricity jumped from the Van de Graaff generator to the ball that was orbiting.”
